#NaucalpanDeJuárez#EstadoDeMéxico.- The Municipal Government, through various departments, in a coordinated and preventive manner, carried out a Cleaning Day in the Green River, in the community of La Palma, since last year during the rainy season two streets were affected by the overflow of the tributary.

In this neighborhood of Chimalpa, Niños Héroes and Adolfo López Mateos streets suffered considerable flooding in 2024 when the river overflowed, affecting the sidewalk, the street and houses. Today, the departments of Environment, Public Services, OAPAS, Public Works and OASyS, as well as the Secretary of Environment of the State of Mexico, joined forces in preventive work to avoid a repeat of history.

Nearly a hundred municipal and state public servants, as well as neighbors and the Ejidal Commissariat, assisted by heavy machinery, an excavator, backhoe and trucks for transporting solid waste, removed from the flow, logs, garbage, tires and product packaging that accumulated in recent years.

According to the Director of Environment, Ivette González, both the Municipal Water Agency OAPAS and Public Works worked to place a pyramidal wall with 350 sacks to contain a possible increase of water that could affect the inhabitants.

She pointed out that it is necessary to promote an environmental culture, as well as a culture of denunciation to prevent people from throwing garbage on public roads or in bodies of water, and thus prevent damage to the families who live near the Verde River.

Ivette González emphasized that Mayor Isaac Montoya promotes the proximity with those neighborhoods that had not been attended by any other government.
