In #Ensenada, #BajaCalifornia, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, led the inauguration of the first stage of the Regional General Hospital No.23 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Ensenada, which will benefit more than 318,000 beneficiaries and whose second stage will be completed in a year and a half.

«We are going to continue moving forward, because there is a lot of conviction on the part of the directors, but above all, the conviction of those who are part of the public health institutions. For years it was said that “private was better than public” and everything was privatized, from state enterprises to, little by little, the privatization of health services and higher education. And the big difference is that we, our conviction is that health is not a privilege, it is not a commodity to be bought, but it is a right of the people of Mexico established in the 4th Constitution. And every day we are going to improve the supply system and the health systems throughout our country,» he said.

In its first stage, Ensenada’s Regional General Hospital No. 23 has 31 beds, 32 specialties, 40 outpatient consultation rooms, two operating rooms for outpatient surgery, 30 hemodialysis machines, 20 chemotherapy chairs, 12 outpatient dialysis rooms and four endoscopy rooms.
