A few weeks ago, the first anniversary of Tenayuca-Santa Cecilia being designated a «Magical Neighborhood» was celebrated. This place is steeped in history, pyramids, and an archaeological site that attracts local and international visitors due to the mystique surrounding it.

In the case of Tenayuca, its name comes from the Nahuatl word for «Walled Place.» It is located in the town of San Bartolo Tenayuca. From Tuesday to Sunday, you can visit an impressive pyramidal base where two deities were allegedly worshipped: Tlaloc and Huitzilopochtli. This is one of the most complete and best-preserved temples in the center of the country, where religious and artistic expressions can be observed.

The Santa Cecilia Acatitlán Archaeological Zone takes its name from the Nahuatl word for «In the Place of the Reeds.» At this site, you can see a pyramid that was an essential part of a large ceremonial center. Its discovery dates back to 1923 and 1924, but it wasn’t until 1961 that the then Federal Directorate of Archaeology began inspecting this space. Walk the cobblestone streets of these magical places, delight your palate with the cuisine of this place, and feel the pride of being a resident of Tlalnepantla and of our Mexico.

With 80,000 square meters for walking, playing, and practicing sports, the Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, and the Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz, delivered the comprehensive rehabilitation of the «Science Park,» located in the eastern part of the district. Children’s playgrounds, sports fields, and a dog park are some of the amenities residents can enjoy in this newly remodeled space for the benefit of all.
