#Tecámac, #StateOfMexico.- While leading a meeting with Higinio Martínez Miranda in Tecámac, Senator Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante recognized Higinio Martínez’s 50-year career on the left. Senator Gutiérrez Escalante also affirmed that the Fourth Transformation movement is stronger and more united than ever in the State of Mexico, and thanked Higinio Martínez for leading this unity project during his 50-year political career.
“Mexiquenses de Corazón, founded by him and of which we are today, women and men committed to the transformation of the state’s 125 municipalities, is not a name, it is an identity, a common cause, a project of unity around values such as justice, honesty, and a profound love for our land,” she stated.
During the meeting with the Texcocan native as part of his tour of «50 years on the leftist path in Mexico,» which brought together more than two thousand attendees in Ozumbilla, he thanked him for «giving us a flag that unites us, that transcends names and positions, and that always calls us not to give up.»
After calling him an essential figure in the state’s political history, Mariela Gutiérrez added that «his merit is even greater for what this movement represents at a key moment for the country, and made it clear that in Tecámac, like Morena, they are Mexiquenses at Heart.»
The Senator highlighted his consistency, his political generosity, his example, and his tireless will to continue leading, building and dreaming of a different state of Mexico, and stated that the struggle continues with him at the forefront.
In his speech, Martínez Miranda—senator on leave—thanked Senator Mariela Escalante for all her support over so long, and called for unity within the Fourth Transformation movement, to not get lost in differences, nor fall into disloyalty, nor betrayal. «Let’s stay united,» he added.
“Disagreements are welcome, yes; criticism is welcome, yes; internal controversy is welcome, yes, but betrayal is not welcome. Disloyalty is not welcome. Personal interests are not welcome,” concluded Higinio Martínez Miranda.
