#Tecámac, #StateOfMexico.- Despite the recess, the Metropolitan Areas and Mobility Commission, chaired by Senator Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante, held its sixth regular meeting, in which it discussed three housing-related initiatives to avoid the so-called legislative backlog.
During the session, which was held in person and online, negative rulings were issued on the laws of the National Workers’ Housing Fund Institute (#INFONAVIT), the Social Security and Services Institute for State Workers (#ISSSTE), and the Housing Law.
Senator Gutiérrez Escalante explained that the body she presides issued a ruling on the proposals in this regard, given the vast legislation surrounding the issues they addressed.

«After analyzing the reform proposals, it was determined that approving the changes could lead to overregulation, because there is a broad legal framework for housing construction,» she noted.
Thus, the committee voted by majority to reject the reforms to Articles 4 and 51 bis of the #INFONAVIT Law; Article 109 of the ISSSTE; and Articles 2, 5, 6, and 8 of the Housing Law.
The committee chair emphasized the importance of moving forward on pending issues even during the vacation period, as this will prevent legislative delays.
