#MinistryOfCulture, #Mexico.-The Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico, through the General Directorate of Cultural Engagement (DGVC), signed a collaboration agreement with the government of the state of Tabasco to strengthen and expand the Creative Seedbeds program in the state.
The event, which took place at the Quinta Grijalva Cultural Center in Villahermosa, Tabasco, today, Friday, August 1, 2025, was chaired by the General Director of Cultural Engagement, Diego Raúl Martínez García, and the Secretary of Culture of Tabasco, Aída Elba Castillo Santiago.
Also present were the Director of Promotion, Training, and Development of the DGVC, Yesenia Ramírez Rafael, and the Director of the Quinta Grijalva Cultural Center, Pedro B. Flores Barrada.
It is worth noting that the Creative Seedbeds are free artistic training groups with a community focus, made up of children and youth in conditions of social vulnerability, operated through the Community Culture program.
The agreement signed in Tabasco guarantees the installation of two new Seedbeds under Model B, a co-participation strategy between the federation and local governments in which the localities assume the project’s operating costs, while the DGVC provides methodological, pedagogical, and community support.
With these actions, the new groups will join the National Network of Creative Seedbeds, which will total 17 in the state. This is in line with the objectives of promoting a culture of peace, social transformation, participation in the cultural life of children and youth in the state of Tabasco, as well as community cultural development and strengthening local capacities.
During the event, the General Director of Cultural Engagement, Diego Raúl Martínez García, emphasized that “Semilleros Creativos is a project of great kindness and commitment. The Secretary of Culture of the Mexican Government, Claudia Curiel de Icaza, and I believe that there is no better policy than prevention. I have always said that the primary role of our teachers and educators is to provide happy childhoods. There can be no peace in the country without that, and this is part of what we want to promote nationwide.”
