Security with Incentives: Participation in the «Weapon Exchange 2025» Program in Tlalnepantla / @RacielPerezC_ @Gob_Tlalne >>>
#TlalnepantlaDeBaz, #StateOfMexico.– Instead of keeping a gun at home, participate in the «Gun Exchange 2025» program and receive financial compensation from the Government of the State of Mexico, as well as appliances and other items from the Government of Tlalnepantla. Be part of this national strategy being promoted to prevent gun trafficking and create safer cities.
Jorge Alberto Gómez Estrella, head of the General Police Station of Proximity and Citizen Security, indicated that this strategy, implemented by the President of the Republic, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, is part of the first line of addressing the causes of crime. Therefore, Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz instructed this agency to make all available resources available to carry out the Gun Exchange.
From August 4th to 16th, citizens can visit the esplanade of the Municipal Palace of Tlalnepantla de Baz, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to exchange firearms, cartridges, or replicas for cash provided by the Government of the State of Mexico. An appraisal is performed, and depending on the caliber and condition of the firearm, the value is determined using a table.
The Tlalnepantla Commissioner explained that in addition to this monetary compensation, Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz instructed citizens to further encourage them to keep guns away from their homes. Therefore, the local government is also providing items such as refrigerators, smart flat-screen TVs, sound bars, tablets, laptops, microwave ovens, among others. These products are delivered according to the similar value determined on the table.
Gómez Estrella reflected on the risks of having a firearm at home, a fact he defined with a single word: responsibility. “I invite you to be responsible and help us combat crime so that no one misuses firearms.”
He also called on residents to participate in this program, which involves all three levels of government. “With proximity and closeness, we generate security. Come and exchange your weapon for money and items to benefit your family, not something you’ll just keep hidden.”
Luis Alfonso Ojeda Castillo, Metropolitan Coordinator of the State Police, spoke on behalf of Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo, Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico, and noted that this program is committed to crime prevention through the collection and destruction of weapons and firearms.
«These instruments represent an imminent risk and are potential triggers of violence. We are addressing the causes as instructed by the state’s Governor, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, through this peace exercise that seeks to remove these devices from circulation,» she said.
