#MexicoCity, #Mexico.– With 300 days until the start of the 2026 World Cup, the Álvaro Obregón Mayor’s Office is joining the excitement surrounding the sporting event and reaffirming its tourism and hotel potential to welcome those who will attend the matches in Mexico City.

Within this framework, in coordination with the State Representation in Mexico City, the «Nuevo León, Ponte Nuevo, Ponte Mundial en la Álvaro Obregón» fair was inaugurated at the Jaime Sabines Cultural Center in San Ángel, from August 15 to 17. This is a joint effort to strategically promote interstate tourism, strengthen the positioning of local governments, and foster institutional collaboration.

During the inauguration, Luis Ignacio Sáinz, Culture and Heritage Advisor for Álvaro Obregón, highlighted the importance of the Mayor’s Office as a meeting point.

“Álvaro Obregón is a transitional space where everything happens and where everything intersects, which is why it is important to welcome visitors, ambassadors, and representatives from other cities, as it allows us to broaden our perspective and learn how other governments and societies work,” he noted.

He highlighted the ties that unite the local government with the State of Nuevo León, primarily in education, through the High-Level University Cluster.

“Hosting our friends from Nuevo León and other states offers us the opportunity to learn from their experiences, value what is being done in other cities, and better understand the international economy and its local impact,” he commented.
