#FederalGovernment, #Mexico.- The Government of Mexico, through the Mexican Youth Institute (IMJUVE), launched the 2nd National Day of Tequios and Murals for Peace and Against Addictions, with the participation of 1.2 million young people from across the country who will create more than 8,000 murals, demonstrating with each stroke that Mexico strives for peace and strengthens its social fabric.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that through these days, young people intervene in public spaces through art, build community, and access activities that promote peace and keep them away from addictions.

«They have to do with promoting student activities that build community, because loneliness often exists for various reasons, including family issues. Having group activities helps young people find alternative ways to live, build camaraderie, and prevent any access to drugs,» she stated during the morning press conference, «Las mañaneras del pueblo» (The People’s Morning Conference).

She highlighted that the Mexican government is implementing support measures for young people, such as the Línea de la Vida (Lifeline): 800 911 2000, where they can be reached. She also emphasized that work is underway to provide sports centers and cultural activities, starting in January 2026, as well as the implementation of the Jóvenes Unen al Barrio (Youth Unite the Neighborhood) program—created during her administration as Mayor of Mexico City—to prevent youth from becoming involved with criminal groups.
