Citizen Trust Drives Historic Fundraising in Mexico / @Claudiashein @GobiernoMX >>>

#FederalGovernment, #Mexico.- Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced a milestone in tax collection, reporting that, from January to September 2025, the amount will reach 4.6 trillion pesos (bpd). This figure represents a significant increase of 542 billion pesos (mdp) compared to the same period in 2024, which the president interpreted as a clear sign that «Mexicans have confidence that resources are being used transparently and honestly.» This data underscores citizens’ compliance with tax obligations, a fundamental element for the country’s economic strength and the management of public funds.

This achievement is consolidated without implementing new taxes, based on the updating and efficiency of collection management, as the President emphasized during the morning press conference «La Mañanera del Pueblo.» The 4.6 trillion pesos collected contrasts significantly with the nearly 3 trillion pesos recorded in the January-September 2019 period, demonstrating an upward trend. «From 2024 to 2025, the increase is 9.1 percent, that is, in real terms, even after adjusting for inflation,» she emphasized, attributing credit to the team at the Ministry of Finance and, to a greater extent, to the responsibility of the population.

The federal Chief Executive emphasized that the success in tax collection not only reflects the honest use of funds, but also the commitment of the majority of business owners who pay their taxes on time and in full. «Tax collection has reached historic levels… there is just over 500 billion pesos in additional revenue this year, of which nearly 200 billion pesos comes from customs, without actually increasing taxes or duties,» President Sheinbaum reaffirmed. This outlook validates the government’s strategy of strengthening oversight without putting pressure on the taxpayer base through tax increases.

Given the favorable performance of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) and citizen participation, projections for 2026 are encouraging, with estimated revenues of 6.4 trillion pesos. This projected amount represents an increase of 496.309 billion pesos that will be directed toward strengthening Welfare Programs, essential for the country’s social development. Priority investment will also focus on infrastructure projects, as well as on the education, health, and housing sectors, ensuring that the funds raised translate into tangible and equitable benefits for all Mexicans.
