#Puebla, #México.- The Governor of Puebla, Alejandro Armenta Mier, conveyed a message of solidarity and hope during his recent visit to the municipality of Tlacuilotepec, severely impacted by the heavy rainfall in the Sierra Norte region. The Governor highlighted that thanks to the coordinated efforts involving all three levels of government, utilising over 130 units of machinery, access roads were successfully opened. This crucial progress allowed essential aid to reach the affected municipality, demonstrating a robust and immediate governmental response to the disaster.

During a meeting with the distressed families, Governor Armenta offered immediate assurances, explaining that a comprehensive census is currently being conducted to assess the damage fully. He pledged that once the assessment is complete, families will receive assistance to replace the household goods lost during the contingency. «The damaged homes are going to be repaired, the belongings that were lost are going to be replaced, the affected roads are going to be rehabilitated, as are the schools,» the state executive firmly assured, confirming that the Federal Government is already executing the damage census across all 23 affected municipalities.

Governor Armenta stated that focused work is underway on essential reconstruction projects, specifically targeting the vital bridges that connect the region. He identified Tlacuilotepec, Tlaxco, and Pahuatlán as the three most extensively damaged municipalities, yet stressed that machinery is continually working to guarantee communication between communities. Furthermore, he commended the exceptional collaboration with the Ministry of National Defence (SEDENA), the Ministry of the Navy (SEMAR), and the National Guard (GN), whose personnel are actively deployed across 11 operational fronts.

Separately, the General Coordinator of Intergovernmental Affairs and Social Participation for the Government of Mexico, Leticia Ramírez Amaya, emphasised the commitment of President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, to the well-being of all citizens. Ms Ramírez Amaya reminded residents that the ongoing census by Servants of the Nation in damaged homes will secure support for cleaning and other supplies, followed by aid to recover houses and property. Residents like Quetzalli Cruz and Hermila García Sosa shared painful accounts, with Mrs García Sosa admitting, «Nature overwhelmed us,» but also expressing profound gratitude for the rapid and coordinated governmental assistance.
