#SecretariatOfWellbeing, #Mexico.– During the morning conference, titled «Las mañaneras del pueblo,» the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, alongside the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, announced a significant milestone in the Pension for Welfare Women programme. They confirmed that 1,349,462 Welfare Cards have now been successfully delivered to Mexican women aged between 60 and 64. These beneficiaries are entitled to receive a biannual support payment of 3,000 pesos, underscoring the government’s commitment to senior welfare.
Secretary Montiel Reyes reminded the public that the distribution of these essential bank cards is ongoing and will continue at Welfare Modules nationwide until 10th November. To collect their cards, recipients must attend the designated Module bringing their official photographic identification, both the original and a copy, in addition to the purple registration slip from their initial application. This process ensures the support reaches the correct beneficiaries efficiently and securely across the country.
The Secretary further detailed the necessary steps for beneficiaries, explaining that they are notified of the specific date, time, and location for collection via a text message (SMS) to their registered mobile phones. Furthermore, women can verify their assigned Welfare Module by consulting the official government website at gob.mx/bienestar. This digital system is designed to provide clear, timely information, streamlining the process and ensuring easy access to information for all applicants.
Upon receiving their Welfare Card, which is given in a sealed envelope along with a receipt that must be safely retained, beneficiaries must present their official photographic ID (original and copy) and hand over their purple registration slip. A photograph of the recipient is also taken at the moment of collection to verify the delivery. Ariadna Montiel confirmed that women will later receive an SMS when their first deposit is made, after which payments will occur every two months, aligning with the payment schedule for the Elderly and Disabled Persons’ Pensions.
