#FederalGovernment#Mexico.- The Government of Mexico, through the Secretariat of the Navy, announced that the Line K of the Interoceanic Train has reached an overall progress of 87.68%, with completion scheduled for June 2026. At the same time, the Roberto Ayala–Dos Bocas section of Line FA reports a 44.28% advancement in right-of-way clearance. Additionally, construction continues on the Suburban Train “El Tehuanito”, which is set to begin operations in December this year, further strengthening connectivity across the country’s southeast region.

During the morning press conference “Las Mañaneras del Pueblo”, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced that the first section of Line K will be inaugurated in November, highlighting ongoing collaboration with the Government of Guatemala to extend the project beyond Mexico’s southern border. She underlined that the Roberto Ayala–Dos Bocas stretch will facilitate the transport of part of the Olmeca Refinery’s production, stimulating regional growth. “It is a highly significant regional development project; across the corridor there are 14 Wellbeing Hubs, six already under development and the rest in the bidding process,” the President stated.

The Vice Admiral Octavio Sánchez Guillén, Director of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, reported that Line K consists of three segments: Ciudad Ixtepec–Tonalá, with 99.44% progress and under testing since 26 August; Tonalá–Huixtla, with 79.23%; and Huixtla–Ciudad Hidalgo, including Los Toros–Puerto Chiapas, with 84.36%. He added that the 14 stations show an overall progress of 47.67%, while the Huixtla Viaduct of the second section stands at 99.95%, creating 1,500 direct jobs. The linear parks also report 95.10% completion in Arriaga and 33.25% in Huixtla.

The Suburban Train “El Tehuanito” will operate two passenger routes from Monday to Friday, covering 189 kilometres: Tehuanito Norte (Ubero–Ixtepec–Ubero) and Tehuanito Sur (Unión Hidalgo–Salina Cruz–Unión Hidalgo), both reaching an overall progress of 82.6%. The official also noted that since their launch, Line Z and Line FA have jointly transported 134,903 passengers and 889,920 tonnes of cargo, consolidating the Interoceanic Train as a strategic axis for development and logistical integration in Mexico’s south-southeast region.
