#MinistryOfCommunicationsAndTransportation#México.- The Government of Mexico, through the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT), has announced the signing of crucial collaboration agreements for the construction of seven new high schools, six to be located in the State of Mexico and one in Chihuahua. These vital developments are set to be affiliated with the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) and the National Institute of Educational Physical Infrastructure (INIFED), the latter being responsible for the equipping and installation of the new academic facilities.

The formalisation of the agreements saw the participation of key government officials, ensuring a unified approach to bolstering the nation’s educational infrastructure. Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, Head of the SICT, formally signed the documents alongside the Governors of the respective states: Delfina Gómez Álvarez for the State of Mexico, and María Eugenia Campos Galván for Chihuahua. Also endorsing the accord, which was published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF), were Tania Hogla Rodríguez Mora, Undersecretary of Upper Secondary Education for the SEP, and Francisco Javier Cabiedes Uranga, Director-General of INIFED.

To finance these significant public works, specific budget allocations have been established to guarantee the successful execution of the projects. For the construction of the six educational establishments in the State of Mexico’s municipalities of Texcoco, Nezahualcóyotl, Chimalhuacán, Chalco, Ixtapaluca, and Ecatepec, the SICT will commit 405 million pesos. Furthermore, the dependency will allocate 67 million 500 thousand pesos for the corresponding construction work to be undertaken in the municipality of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, underlining the government’s investment in expanding access to education.
