#AlcaldíaMiguelHidalgo#MéxicoCity.- The Miguel Hidalgo Mayor’s Office has launched the infrastructure projects selected through the 2025 Participatory Budget, initiating simultaneous works across 50 sites throughout the district. The projects cover essential areas such as road resurfacing, pavement renewal, drainage, street lighting, and the overall improvement of the urban image and public space. This action represents the will of local residents, translated into direct investment for neighbourhoods, aiming to positively transform the environment and improve the quality of life for the people of Miguel Hidalgo.

The Mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, Mauricio Tabe, presided over the swearing-in of the members of the Execution and Oversight Committees for the 2025 Participatory Budget. In his speech, Tabe issued a direct call for residents to remain vigilant alongside the Mayor’s Office. The aim is to ensure that all the projects already contracted and “chosen by the people of Miguel Hidalgo are completed, and completed well”, guaranteeing full transparency in the use of public funds.

Mauricio Tabe stressed that this process has successfully eradicated clientelism, a model that previously “benefited only a few”, by allowing citizens to decide directly how resources should be allocated. “This swearing-in ceremony ensures that every peso of public funds is used properly, and that is what we want — no corruption, no suspicion, and for all projects to be carried out correctly”, he stated. He affirmed that the goal is for the works to be of high quality, long-lasting, and to guarantee the “satisfaction of our residents”.

As these are public resources, the Mayor emphasised the need to be “more rigorous in how they are used”, noting that public trust is at stake. He also acknowledged the work of the committees in “safeguarding every peso of this budget”. The Director General of Public Works, Nina Hermosillo, explained that all projects have completed the procurement process and that the initial phase is ready. She noted that work will be carried out across 50 sites, including residential complexes such as Marina Nacional, Tata Lázaro, Lomas de Sotelo, and Militar 1K.

Nina Hermosillo added that 10 sites have already begun to ensure gradual progress, and residents will be regularly informed of the project timelines. This follow-up aims to maintain coordination and public awareness. In addition to the infrastructure works, the Mayor’s Office also announced the implementation of 16 projects focused on environmental upkeep and tree pruning.

This launch underscores the transparency and commitment of the Miguel Hidalgo Government to citizen participation. The involvement of the Execution and Oversight Committees is vital to ensuring that public funds are invested with maximum efficiency and integrity. The ultimate objective is to deliver high-quality public works that genuinely respond to the needs expressed by the residents of the district.
