#MinistryOfHealth, #Mexico.– The Mexican Ministry of Health hosted a deeply moving ceremony to acknowledge the profound commitment and vocation of its workforce, celebrating the annual Premio de Antigüedad 2025. The Secretary of Health, David Kershenobich, presided over the event, which paid tribute to 760 employees who have dedicated between 20 and an extraordinary 55 years of their lives to public service. This recognition is a powerful affirmation of the invaluable institutional memory preserved by these individuals, whose enduring work strengthens the core mission of the nation’s health sector.

The Secretary himself described the occasion as one of the «most emotive and gratifying ceremonies,» as it rewards people who have devoted many years to the health of Mexico. Kershenobich affirmed that each career path represents years of dedication, experience, and a legacy that is crucial to the Ministry’s continuity. The award recipients’ long service «preserves the institutional memory and strengthens the work of this Secretariat,» providing an inspiring example of commitment to public health.

The Head of the Administration and Finance Unit, Miriam Machicao Ceballos, highlighted the personal stories behind the numbers, noting, “Today we are not just celebrating years of service, we are celebrating complete journeys, stories of vocation, dedication, and conviction.” She stressed that the true strength of the Ministry lies not in its buildings but in its people: «The Ministry of Health is not a building or a structure; it is you, your hands, your experience, and your daily commitment.» This award, she concluded, is the «tangible expression of the gratitude that this institution has for you.»

The Vice President of the National Executive Committee of the National Union of Health Ministry Workers, Francisco Becerril Chimal, echoed this sentiment, remarking that the honourees are «who give vitality to the Ministry of Health.» The medals symbolically presented, including those for 55 years of service to Josefina Laguna Leme and Santos Jovita Alcántara Espinosa, represent the gratitude of an entire institution to those who have delivered decades of effort for the benefit of all Mexicans.
