#FutureSkillsRevolution #TechEducationForAll —– #StateOfHidalgo#Mexico.- The state of Hidalgo has recently assumed a pivotal role in the national discourse on technical education, hosting the Third National Meeting of General Directors of State Colleges to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the National College of Professional Technical Education (Conalep) Hidalgo. Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar seized this significant platform to emphatically reaffirm his government’s unwavering commitment to fostering educational innovation and cultivating highly specialised human capital—an essential pillar for the technological, social, and economic advancement of the region.

In his welcoming address to the esteemed delegates from across the nation, Governor Menchaca Salazar articulated the state’s profound dedication to the ongoing national transformation. “The commitment of the state of Hidalgo, across its three levels of government, to contribute to this construction, this transformation led by the President of the Republic, you will always find here the backing, the response, and the commitment to work for the good of Mexico and Hidalgo,” the State Governor underscored, signalling robust state support for technical learning and its expansion.

Joining the Governor, Mario Delgado Carrillo, the Secretary of Public Education for the Government of Mexico, celebrated Conalep’s foundational goal of driving technical education as a transformative national force. He urged the assembled directors to ensure the technical curricula remain fully up to date, continuously adapting to the nation’s shifting landscape, stressing the need to increase spaces for young people and strengthen collaborative links with the productive sector of the economy.

Rodrigo Alejandro Rojas Navarrete, the General Director of Conalep, subsequently highlighted the successful implementation of the Dual Training Model, which directly integrates students into the productive sector. This model allows young learners to gain invaluable experience in a real-world environment, thereby significantly bolstering their professional development. He further announced an ambitious agenda for the forthcoming year, promising a period of expansion and consolidation, with a particular focus on integrating more advanced technology into the colleges and deepening the use of artificial intelligence in both administrative planning and faculty management.

Complementing this, the State Secretary of Public Education, Natividad Castrejón Valdez, offered insights into recent and forthcoming material investments for the students. He reminded the audience that in the previous year, 15,000 tablets were distributed across the four upper secondary education subsystems, with the delivery of these devices set to continue into 2025 to cover 100 per cent of the Conalep Hidalgo student body; moreover, he announced a groundbreaking opportunity for over 70,000 students to obtain English language certification at their respective colleges.

Abel Rojo Muñoz, the General Director of Conalep Hidalgo, concluded by sharing the tangible improvements seen within the institution under his leadership, thanks to strategic state investment. He noted that $15 million has been allocated over the last three years to build a state-of-the-art STEM laboratory in each of the six colleges, providing significant benefit to the nearly 3,700 students who also receive essential uniform and textbook packages.

This collective investment and forward-thinking strategy demonstrates a clear national and state conviction in the transformative power of technical skills. The Conalep network is demonstrably poised to continue its vital mission of equipping young people with the high-demand skills required for Mexico’s dynamic future.
