#IMSSBasification #PlanForPeaceAndJustice —— #FederalGovernment, #Mexico.– Presidenta of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, presided over the formal handover of permanent contracts to 270 new healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, during a live link from Palacio Nacional to Morelia, Michoacán. This critical action signalled a firm commitment to stability within the health system as part of the «Plan Michoacán por la Paz y la Justicia.» The integration of this personnel into rural and zone hospitals of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) aims to fortify regional healthcare provision.

During the morning press conference, «Las mañaneras del pueblo», Presidenta Sheinbaum explained that this basification responds to a longstanding request from IMSS workers to abandon their temporary posts. The priority given to Michoacán for this measure meant that some of the newly contracted staff would change their adscription to rural hospitals or clinics that previously lacked sufficient doctors or nurses, thereby addressing a critical deficit in primary care.

Zoé Robledo Aburto, Director General of the IMSS, detailed the composition of the new workforce, specifying that the 270 employees comprise 127 women and 143 men. This personnel will now be assigned to Rural Hospitals in Paracho, Ario de Rosales, Buenavista, Coalcomán, Villamar, Huetamo, and Tuxpan, as well as Zone Hospitals in Uruapan, Lázaro Cárdenas, Morelia, and Zacapu, covering essential specialties from Paediatrics to Traumatology and Oncology.

Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla offered his sincere congratulations to all the medical staff receiving their permanent posts, and expressed his gratitude to the Presidenta for the decisive actions being taken in support of the people of Michoacán through the «Plan Michoacán por la Paz y la Justicia», marking a significant step towards institutional security and public well-being.
