Under the municipal strategy “Paz, Honestidad y Corazón para la Reconstrucción”, the project sought to recover the park’s civic function and improve daily life for residents of the historic neighbourhoods. The restoration emphasised cleaner facilities, upgraded lighting and enhanced urban image to encourage safe, communal use by children, youth and adults.

Municipal departments coordinated closely to deliver the works, with the General Coordinator of Public Services, Francisco Agama Díaz, reporting that teams from Public Lighting, Green Areas, Conservation and Maintenance, Urban Image and Basic Sanitation completed the tasks. The programme began last week and concluded this Monday, reflecting a concentrated effort to rehabilitate pathways, seating, planting and service infrastructure. Officials stressed that ongoing maintenance brigades will remain active to preserve the improvements and sustain the park’s renewed appeal.

Official updates indicate that the rehabilitation aligns with broader municipal commitments to public space recovery and community safety, and that Leticia Lozano Zavala’s administration is prioritising similar interventions across the city to promote sport and social cohesion.
