The opening ceremony was attended by Daniel Altafi Valladares, Secretary of Tourism of Morelos, representing Governor Margarita González Saravia; alongside Viridiana Aidee León Hernández, Rector of the UAEM, and José Felipe Domínguez Robles, Director General of the State Institute of Sport and Physical Culture. The event highlighted the institutional commitment to project Morelos as a venue for international competitions that strengthen the nation’s sporting identity.
On the first day, Canada defeated Trinidad and Tobago, while the United States overcame Costa Rica. Meanwhile, Dominican Republic surpassed Cuba in a highly contested match. The most emotional victory came from Mexico, which triumphed over Curaçao, igniting the passion of the crowd and reaffirming the country’s devotion to volleyball.
Rector Viridiana Aidee León Hernández emphasized that this tournament distinguishes Morelos and Mexico as hosts of world-class events, while sports outlets underscored that the continental competition enhances the nation’s reputation in organizing high-level tournaments, generating a positive impact on tourism and cultural promotion in the region.
