(#SafeMobility – #PublicWorks) *** #NaucalpánDeJuárez, #StateOfMéxico.- In an event that ends nearly four decades of neglect, Mayor #IsaacMontoyaMárquez inaugurated the comprehensive rehabilitation of Durango Street in the #LomasDeSanAgustín neighborhood, a project that restores mobility and neighborhood safety through a fully rebuilt roadway and a «safe and luminous pathway» designed for students and families. The intervention replaces a degraded surface with high‑durability concrete and reclaims public space on a heavily trafficked route. With this delivery, municipal authorities seek to return dignity to a community long affected by deterioration. The project was conceived as an urban reengineering rather than a mere repaving.

The works encompassed the renewal of 6,745 square meters and the reconstruction of 760 linear meters of roadway with MR 42 hydraulic concrete, together with the releveling of curbs and grates; water inlets and drainage outlets were repaired, and sidewalks and curbstones were rebuilt to ensure accessibility. The intervention was coordinated by the municipal public works and public services departments in collaboration with the Water, Sewerage and Sanitation Agency, integrating services and civil works. Residents participated in the handover, underscoring the community dimension of the project. The joint effort optimized time and resources while prioritizing long‑term maintenance.

To enhance nighttime safety and pedestrian circulation, 76 luminaires were installed to illuminate the new walkway, reducing hazards and facilitating movement during early and late hours; the lighting forms part of broader measures to recover the urban environment. Accompanied by auxiliary authorities and neighbors, Isaac Montoya Márquez emphasized that these actions leave tangible marks of transformation and that his administration is committed to delivering lasting legacies for Naucalpan families. The intervention was planned with maintenance and sustainability criteria to extend its useful life. The coordinated work among agencies sought to maximize benefits for local residents.

In the surrounding area, larger initiatives such as Center Mexico Unstoppable are advancing, and coordination with the Guardia Nacional has been strengthened to consolidate the recovery of the urban environment and reinforce public safety; these measures complement the Durango Street rehabilitation and broaden its social impact. Isaac Montoya Márquez affirmed that the convergence of infrastructure, services and institutional presence aims to provide spaces for coexistence and meeting for local families.
