Published in the #DiarioOficialDeLaFederación, these measures are designed to guarantee impartiality, transparency and operational safety, while maximising efficiency for the greatest number of passengers across Mexico’s busiest airports.

The provisions stipulate that the rules will apply exclusively to aerodromes classified as Level 3 saturated, covering all operational hours regardless of congestion in airfields or terminals. By aligning with international best practices, the SICT seeks to ensure continuity of air services and strengthen national aviation infrastructure. Compliance is mandatory for concessionaires, airport administrators, and committees responsible for scheduling and delay management.

The Agencia Federal de Aviación Civil confirmed that the slot allocation system will be supervised by navigation service providers and designated coordinators, ensuring equitable and non‑discriminatory scheduling. Current reports indicate that the measures are expected to reduce delays and improve passenger flow, reinforcing Mexico’s commitment to aviation safety and efficiency.
