The awareness campaign is reinforced by the call to keep pedestrian transit free, where the hashtag #PedestrianRespect becomes a symbol of urban order. “Respecting these spaces helps maintain safe mobility for everyone”, stated Rufino Jiménez Jiménez.

Municipal regulations establish that sidewalk obstruction may occur in various forms: garages exceeding property limits, fixed altars, planters, posts, mailboxes, improvised structures, water tanks, bundles, or garbage. These practices affect mobility and generate risks for the community. “We carry out operations daily; the goal of Mayor Rosi Wong is to keep roads free of obstacles”, declared Rufino Jiménez Jiménez.

The municipal administration has intensified surveillance actions, in coordination with the Tecámac Civil Guard, to sanction those who invade pedestrian space. In the Valley of Mexico, there has been a rise in citizen complaints about obstructions in urban areas, reinforcing the need for permanent awareness campaigns. “If you don’t want a fine to ruin your day, the best option is to park only in permitted places”, emphasized Rufino Jiménez Jiménez.
