Atizapán Renovates Police Centers to Strengthen Community Safety and Operational Response / @Pedro_RVillegas @GobAtizapan
(#CitizenSecurity – #CrimePrevention) *** #AtizapánDeZaragoza, #StateOfMexico.- Mayor #PedroRodríguezVillegas led the handover of the renovated #PoliceServiceCenters in #LasArboledas and #LomasDeAtizapán, an initiative that strengthens the #Infrastructure dedicated to #PublicSafety and expands the operational capabilities of the municipal police force. With these facilities, the #GovernmentOfAtizapánDeZaragoza now has 21 PSCs in optimal condition to support surveillance, prevention, and community-policing efforts. The project also represents a commitment to improving the spaces where police officers carry out their daily work in service of the community.
The rehabilitation of both centers is part of the modernization strategy of the Directorate of Public Safety and Road Safety during the 2025-2027 Administration. The facilities were expanded, refurbished, and equipped with offices, rest areas, a kitchen, dining area, and spaces designated for the secure storage of firearms and police equipment. The goal is to provide functional facilities that enable each sector to address its operational needs more efficiently.
Among the improvements are computer equipment, multifunction printers, projectors, screens, desks, chairs, filing cabinets, lockers, and bunk beds, as well as fully equipped kitchens, refrigerators, microwave ovens, and water dispensers. In the operational areas, gun safes and vest racks were also installed, along with air-conditioning systems, fire extinguishers, and signage. Together, these upgrades improve working conditions and contribute to a more organized and community-oriented police response.

The renovation of the PSCs adds to a security strategy that has recorded recent progress in Atizapán de Zaragoza. In June 2026, the perception of insecurity in the municipality stood at 45.5%, the lowest level recorded since it was incorporated into the ENSU survey, while in September, a sustained reduction in vehicle theft was reported for five consecutive years. These results accompany the strengthening of infrastructure and prevention initiatives promoted by Pedro Rodríguez Villegas.
With the renovation of these facilities, Pedro Rodríguez Villegas reaffirms the priority of strengthening a better-equipped, prepared, and supported police force to serve the population. The modernization of the police centers represents an additional component of a strategy aimed at translating public investment into greater operational capacity and closer ties with communities.
