(#EdomexSecurity – #IntentionalHomicide) * #CuautitlánIzcalli, #StateOfMexico.- The municipality of Cuautitlán #Izcalli, headed by Mayor #DanielSerranoPalacios, recorded only two #IntentionalHomicides in August 2026, the lowest figure for that month in the past decade. This result represents a decrease of nearly 70% compared with the historical average for August, a significant indicator for assessing the evolution of this crime and the challenges that remain in the area of #PublicSafety.

The year-over-year comparison reflects a significant change: 11 intentional homicides were recorded in August 2024, while six were reported in the same month of 2025. Compared with these figures, the two cases reported in August 2026 represent an approximate reduction of 82% compared with 2024 and 67% compared with 2025. The figure is also below the 12 cases recorded in August 2021.

As part of its municipal initiatives, the Cuautitlán Izcalli Government continues to carry out coordinated operations with state and federal institutions, in addition to surveillance, crime prevention, and community outreach efforts. Through the General Directorate of Citizen Security, the administration seeks to strengthen police presence in priority areas and improve services for local communities. However, determining the extent to which each measure has contributed to the decrease requires an analysis that takes other factors and crime trends over time into account.
