Sectur, Nafin and Bancomext announce financing program for SMEs in the tourism sector

#SecretaríaDeTurismo.- The objective of this program, called PyMEX Turismo, is to strengthen the growth and development of tourism-related SMEs by providing financing to cover their working capital needs, the acquisition of fixed assets, and technological and environmental improvements through Bancomext and Nafin’s network of financial intermediaries.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) pointed out that this is the first time that significant agreements have been reached on financing to support SMEs, which are a fundamental part of the tourism sector’s value chain, as they represent 80 percent of the sector.

«Supporting the productive activity of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises is fundamental to the country’s economic reactivation process. For this reason, Nafin and Bancomext will focus all their efforts on streamlining credit to this sector, which is fundamental to the national economy,» added Luis Antonio Ramirez.

The companies eligible for the Turismo PyMEX program are micro, small and medium-sized companies, as well as large companies linked to the tourism industry, including those located in Pueblos Magicos (Magic Towns) or tourist towns.
