Presidential plane to be leased and managed by Sedena company: president

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that the presidential airplane will be handed over to the Olmeca-Maya-Mexica company, in charge of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), for its administration; he informed that the aircraft may be rented.

«That it be used so that it is not without flying. That it may have income to pay its expenses and maintenance, then that presidential plane will be in Santa Lucia,» he explained.

In a morning press conference, the President said that the plane could be used for long flights, such as Quintana Roo or Baja California, and will be kept in the conditions in which it was inherited by the administrations of Enrique Peña Nieto and Felipe Calderón.

The leasing process is progressing through dialogue with the Secretary of National Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval González, although the possibility of having the support of companies to put it into service as soon as possible has not been ruled out.
