#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), through the Mexican Space Agency (AEM), calls on the population to take the necessary safety measures to observe the «Total Solar Eclipse – April 2024».

Therefore, it is reported that preparations are already underway with the U.S. space agency (NASA) for the scientific observation of this astronomical phenomenon.

The general director of the AEM, Salvador Landeros Ayala, emphasized that «it is essential to prepare the population; asking all people, with the invaluable support of the media, not to look directly at the Sun during the eclipse for any reason».

Landeros Ayala recalled that Mazatlan, Sinaloa, was chosen by NASA, through its Solar System Study and Exploration Virtual Institute (SSERVI), as the best geographical point to set up and document from the beginning of its trajectory the total eclipse of April 8, 2024.

The great interest in observing the phenomenon has attracted enthusiasts from all over the world, from Canada to Japan, so the observation points have been expanded in Sinaloa, Durango and Coahuila. For example, in the city of Torreón, the science, technology and arts museum «The Exploratorium» of San Francisco, California, United States, will be present.
