#SRE.- The Secretary of Foreign Affairs (SRE), Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, headed this Thursday the reopening of the Passport Office in Guerrero, whose services had been interrupted due to Hurricane Otis. The new facilities will have the capacity to serve 150 users per day.

The Chancellor was accompanied by authorities such as the Secretary of the Interior, Luisa María Alcalde Luján; the head of Security and Citizen Protection, Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez; the Governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda, and the Undersecretary of Human Rights, Population and Migration of the Ministry of the Interior, Félix Arturo Medina Padilla. On the occasion, Secretary Bárcena Ibarra extended her solidarity to the people of Acapulco for the difficult moments they experienced after the natural disaster.

The head of the SRE acknowledged the work of the 25 people who work at the Passport Office and the efforts made to have a dignified space that will allow them to restart their activities.

Likewise, she reaffirmed the commitment to quality and humanism in the Foreign Ministry’s service to the citizens of Guerrero and tourists.

«I want you to know that this office is a passport office, yes, but also a liaison office with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so that if someday you have someone living abroad (…) who wants to know where their relatives are or something that the Ministry can also provide them with support, here is the place,» he said.
