#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- Through prevention strategies against forest fires, San Miguel de Allende issues recommendations to citizens through its Civil Protection Department.

As part of its technical and operational preparation, San Miguel de Allende was the regional headquarters for forest firefighting training, where the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) coordinated with the National Forestry Commission (Conafor) and the State Civil Protection Coordination to carry out the annual training course for forest firefighters in region 5, which includes the municipalities: Salamanca, Silao, Juventino Rosas, Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato and Comonfort, in addition to the Sanmiguelense municipal corporation.

This workshop focused on preparing PC elements with the necessary skills to face emergency situations in forest areas, emphasizing fire prevention, control and extinguishing techniques. Recommendations were also defined for the citizens, with the objective of preventing these fires that damage the environment and their patrimony.

The event was first held at the Police Academy, where the municipal civil protection coordinators met and presented a series of fire prevention and firefighting techniques; later, the course moved to the field, where a fire drill was carried out, thus culminating this symposium.
This regional course strengthens the collaboration and support network between the municipalities of the region in terms of civil protection, which translates into an effective response to the population in the event of forest fire emergencies.

Likewise, the SSC calls on the general population to follow fire prevention methods during this hot season, as they represent an imminent danger to the population and ecosystems.
