#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), in collaboration with the Commercial Service of the Embassy of the United States of America in Mexico and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, will hold the workshop «Experiences and Best Practices in the Implementation of Cybersecurity Frameworks» on April 10 and 11.

At the inaugural event, held at the Postal Palace, the Undersecretary of Communications and Transportation, Rogelio Jiménez Pons; the Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs of the U.S. Embassy, John Breidenstine, and the Director of the Mexican Postal Service, Rocío Bárcena Molina, agreed on the importance of adopting cybersecurity frameworks for the protection of the technological assets of institutions and organizations, with a comprehensive, proactive and coordinated approach.

They also emphasized the importance of joining efforts and generating multi-sector synergies for a better understanding, implementation and dissemination of technical instruments and tools that will enable progress towards greater cyber protection.
The Undersecretary of Communications and Transportation acknowledged the willingness of the U.S. Embassy in Mexico and the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology to organize this workshop together with the SICT.

He commented that the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report 2024 states that cyber insecurity is among the five most serious risks facing the global community, so it is essential to generate a culture of cybersecurity.

During the workshop, ideas, positions and experiences were exchanged between the public, private and academic sectors of both countries to contribute to strengthening the cybersecurity processes of institutions and organizations in six critical areas of the cybersecurity process: governance, identification, protection, detection, response and recovery.
