Government of the State of Mexico to manage two macro wastewater treatment plants / @Edomex >>>

#EstadoDeMéxico.- The macro wastewater treatment plants in North and East Toluca have been managed by the Water Secretariat of the State of Mexico since April 10, thus initiating an era of reclaimed water that will usher in a new water management model for the 21st century.
With this action, the Secretariat of Water of the State of Mexico (SAEM) will meet the needs imposed by the drought, which is the result of a combination of factors such as climate change and the El Niño phenomenon.
Previously the macroplants used the aerated activated sludge system; starting with this administration the wastewater will be treated, sanitized and regenerated using new technologies that guarantee availability and supply to the population, such as:

  • Hybridization of aerobic and anaerobic methods.
  • Application of nanobubbles, which have the capacity to reduce the cost and double the effectiveness, since they favor the removal of contaminants such as fats and oils with greater efficiency.
  • Treatment and polishing wetlands for removal of heavy metals and microplastics, replicating natural sanitation methods.
  • More energy efficient pumping systems.
  • Safer disinfection equipment.
In this way, the government of Mrs. Delfina Gómez Álvarez initiates the project for the State of Mexico contained in the State Development Plan 2023-2029, which proposes that wastewater be properly treated to generate an exchange market between treated and subsequently reclaimed water.
