#ISSSTE.- In order to expand medical care in the region, the High Specialty Regional Hospital (HRAE) of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) in Veracruz has a new hybrid room, which allows for highly complex interdisciplinary surgical and cardiological interventions with the use of high technology.

With a modern Ziehm Vision RFD Hybrid Edition mobile surgical arch, this area complements the hemodynamics room, where the following can be performed: pacemaker implants, vascular and cardiac catheterizations, placement of vena cava filters, arteriovenous fistula repairs, vascular access, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), orthopedic and traumatological surgeries, vascular catheter placement, as well as interventional treatments for pain clinic.

Also, procedures of all types: vascular, percutaneous, as well as neurosurgery, catheterization, in addition to procedures of different specialties such as general surgery, traumatology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology and emergency, since the bed adopts different positions to facilitate the intervention.

Previously, patients requiring this highly complex surgical treatment were transferred to other medical units such as the “20 de Noviembre” National Medical Center (CMN). With this new area, patients from Oaxaca, Puebla, Tabasco, Tamaulipas and Tlaxcala can now be treated at the HRAE in Veracruz.

The hybrid room has a modern C-arm and a mechanism that provides excellent image quality and resolution for optimized clinical results, with less radiation for the patient, allowing for an exceptional reduction of the skin entry dose, thus achieving minimally invasive surgeries and procedures.
