Incident occurs during removal maneuvers of the Palictla Bridge in Tamazunchale / @SICT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), through the SICT San Luis Potosi Center, informs that during the dismantling works of the Palictla Bridge structure, a collapse occurred in which a worker of the construction company was injured. This structure has reached the end of its useful life and is in the process of demolition.

It should be noted that the section in question has been closed to long-distance traffic since last February, allowing only local traffic and vehicles of the construction company carrying out the work.

On May 21, work began on dismantling the existing structure to widen the left side of the new bridge.

However, a Caterpillar 730 heavy articulated vehicle belonging to the construction company did not use the detour; therefore, the overweight of the unit on the structure, combined with the dismantling, caused the collapse.

One person from the construction company was reported injured and was taken to the hospital in Ciudad Valles.
