The head of Sectur informed that visitors to this fair will be able to taste traditional Mexican cuisine from the different states and regions of the country at the gastronomic pavilion. There will also be a handicrafts exhibition, with products made by the magic hands of our artisans, and cultural activities with the presence of groups representing the participating states.

He highlighted the important role of gastronomy in Mexico, since in 2010, UNESCO named Mexican gastronomy Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, with Michoacán’s traditional cuisine as a paradigm.

Also, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the restaurant sector represents 12.2% of all economic units in the country and generates just over 2 million jobs. It is worth noting that out of every 100 food and beverage companies, 96 of them are classified as micro-enterprises, which generate 70% of the jobs.

Torruco Marqués indicated that this fair will also further boost this new air terminal, inaugurated in March 2022, which has gradually increased its flights. To date, it has become Mexico’s leading airport for cargo transportation.
