IMSS attends 99 percent of requests for management of oncology patients in Michoacán / @Tu_IMSS >>>

#IMSS.- The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) has granted attention to 99 percent of the requests for studies and treatments required by oncology patients who are treated at medical units in Michoacan, since November 16, when the videoconferences with authorities from the institution’s Central Level and the IMSS representation in the state began.

During the 17th virtual meeting, the head of the Unidad de Atención a la Derechohabiencia, Maestra Gabriela Paredes Orozco, informed that as of July 18, 194 requests had been received from 92 patients, of which 193 have been attended, while only one case is in process.

He pointed out that 43 medical appointments, 43 requests for medicines, 18 treatments (9 chemotherapies and the same number of radiotherapies), 10 medical attention, 8 appointments in advance, 6 per diem payments, 6 surgeries, 2 disability payments, one pension procedure and one data correction have been processed.

Likewise, he expressed that facilities have been granted for the performance of 55 studies: 16 tomographies, 9 ultrasounds, 6 mastographies, 6 bone scans, 3 immunohistochemistry scans, 3 PET scans, 2 chest x-rays, 2 laboratory scans, 2 biopsy/pathology scans, 2 densitometry scans, as well as an electrocardiogram and an echocardiogram.

For his part, the head of the Deconcentrated Administrative Operation Body (OOAD) in Michoacán, Dr. Miguel Ángel Van-Dick Puga, pointed out that both he and the work team of the representation maintain daily contact to follow up on all the needs of the patients, with the aim of offering a prompt response.
