SICT commemorates Orange Day against violence against women / @SICTmx >>>

#SICT.- At the head of the “Commemoration of the Orange Day against violence against women”, the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jorge Nuño Lara, regretted the violence against women; it is an “abnormal and unjustifiable” situation.

Violence against women is unacceptable, Nuño Lara stressed during the event in which he was accompanied by the Undersecretary of Infrastructure, Jesús Felipe Verdugo López; the Head of the SICT’s Administration and Finance Unit, Eréndira Valdivia Carrillo; the general coordinator of SICT Centers, Carlota Andrade Díaz; and the coordinator of advisors, Arturo Palacios Uribe.

“We cannot tolerate this type of behavior”, and therefore invited to reflect on the problem, because ‘men and women are the ones who make the country, not only men, not only women; together is how we can generate a great nation’.

Normalizing the situation of violence against women “is not human nature,” he added. “It is the context that makes people violent; not genetics.”

Nuño Lara thanked and acknowledged the founder and director of the Women’s Museum, Patricia Galeana Herrera, who gave the keynote lecture “Violence against women, a historical journey”.
