#SRE.- As part of the commemoration of the 136th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mexico and the Dominican Republic, the “Mexico-Dominican Republic Brotherhood Series” is being held, consisting of several baseball games that will take place from July 19 to 27, 2024 in 20 cities in the country and one in the United States.

This exercise in sports diplomacy, which includes among its main activities the throwing of the first ball by officials from both countries, the singing of the national anthems, the signing of autographs by Dominican baseball players, and a visual identity projected in stadiums, social networks and television, is carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) in coordination with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Mexico and the Mexican Baseball League (LMB).

Yesterday, a diplomatic event was organized by the Government of Puebla, in which the general director for Central America and the Caribbean, Carlos Imanol Belausteguigoitia, and the ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Mexico, María Isabel Castillo Báez, shared with Puebla’s officials and businessmen perspectives on the bilateral relationship.

The Dominican Republic is Mexico’s first trading partner in the Caribbean and represents the main market for Mexican exports. It is also one of the main destinations for Mexican investment in the manufacturing, tourism, agribusiness, telecommunications and construction sectors.
