Nuño Lara Leads CAPUFE’s 66th Anniversary Celebration / @jorgenunol @SICT_mx >>>

#SICT.- At the celebration of the 66th Anniversary of Caminos y Puente Federales (CAPUFE), the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jorge Nuño Lara, affirmed that thanks to the transformations undertaken during this administration, the agency is stronger and well prepared to take on the challenges ahead.

In the company of CAPUFE’s General Director, Elsa Julita Veites Arévalo, and the Undersecretary of Infrastructure, Jesús Felipe Verdugo López, the head of the SICT said that Caminos y Puentes Federales is an important agency for national life.

He emphasized that the reforms announced by Decree on July 22, 2024, signed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, restructure the organization and operation of CAPUFE, strengthening its attributions.

«With said Decree, this agency acquires a new scheme for the provision of specialized services that allows it to build, operate, conserve and provide maintenance to federal roads and bridges, to their complementary facilities, as well as to provide auxiliary services that perfect their operation and exploitation.»

This gives support and legal certainty to what CAPUFE had already been doing for some time to develop and operate by itself, or through third parties, an electronic toll system to achieve its competitive repositioning in terms of technology and operation of toll highways.
