Issste consolidates ECOS for Wellness as a strategy for self-care in the population / @BerthaAlcalde @ISSSTE_mx >>>

#ISSSTE.- Five years after its creation, the cross-cutting strategy of primary health care ECOS for Wellbeing of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (Issste) has been consolidated as a unique and historic program in the organization to promote the participation of the entire population in health care. Currently, 93,700 people have been trained throughout the country, informed the medical director, Ramiro López Elizalde.

During the 12th National Meeting «Los ECOS de la salud pública» in Mexico City, he stressed that, through this model, the aim is to guarantee accessibility, availability and quality of care for the entire population, whether or not they are beneficiaries. «The goal is for our users and the population in general to go from being spectators to being involved in their wellbeing».

On behalf of the Director General, Bertha Alcalde Luján, the head of Economic, Social and Cultural Benefits, Yezmín Lehmann Mendoza, emphasized that the Institute is committed to promoting, encouraging and innovating programs that guarantee the human right to health of its beneficiaries, as instructed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

He recognized the work of the Medical Directorate for holding these meetings that allow the exchange of knowledge and experiences, in order to continue actions that generate a positive impact.

ECOS for Wellbeing has integrated 552 teams to carry out 13 million 216 thousand 662 actions, benefiting five million 892 thousand 951 people. Four thousand 110 workshops have also been carried out under this program, benefiting 484 thousand 360 individuals, as recorded in Issste’s Statistical Yearbook 2023 https://goo.su/Xtrod.
