#SICT.- The modernization of the 32 km Minatitlán-Hidalgotitlán road in Veracruz represents «a fundamental pillar for the well-being and sustainable growth of the population», said the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jorge Nuño Lara, during the delivery of the work.
At the inauguration of the roadway led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the company of President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the head of the SICT said that, with the new road in which 417 million pesos were invested, more than 6 thousand inhabitants will have easy access to basic health and education services.
In addition to improving the transportation of agricultural and commercial products to reach large and diversified markets, and the growth of local businesses will be encouraged.
In the presence of Governor Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, and the governor-elect of Veracruz, Rocío Nahle García, Nuño Lara said:
«The modernization of this road will reduce travel time by 45 minutes between the two municipalities, going from 1 hour to just 30 minutes, which will allow it to become an alternate route that facilitates the arrival to the Port of Coatzacoalcos.»
