Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena begins working visit to Santiago, Chile / @SRE_mx >>>

#SRE.- The Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, is on a working visit to Santiago, Chile, from August 7 to 9, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations in the areas of cooperation and trade, as well as exchanging perspectives to face regional and global challenges.

On August 7, the Foreign Minister will participate in the Second Ministerial Meeting on Empowerment and Economic Autonomy of Women of the Pacific Alliance, where she will promote public and economic policies with a gender perspective that promote women’s labor participation and the implementation of the Feminist Foreign Policy.

On Thursday, August 8, Secretary Bárcena will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Alberto van Klaveren, with whom she will discuss the current state of bilateral relations, trade, development cooperation and regional and multilateral issues.

She will also co-chair the VIII Meeting of the Council of the Mexico-Chile Strategic Association Agreement (AAE), where she will sign memorandums of understanding on Feminist Foreign Policy, indigenous peoples, and academic and diplomatic cooperation.

Finally, on August 9, the Foreign Minister will participate in the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the entry into force of the Mexico-Chile Free Trade Agreement (FTA), where she will highlight the recent modernization of the FTA, which integrated innovative chapters on collaboration between micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and the inclusion of women in foreign trade.
