#SECTUR.- In this regard, the head of Sectur, Miguel Torruco Marqués, stressed the importance of the tourism sector being updated on new technological trends in the industry, helping to understand the changes in the way travel is organized, as well as the behavior of travelers.

In this way, he indicated that Sectur has taken on the task of rising to the occasion, with a tourism policy that incorporates technology into its programs, actions, products and services in favor of inclusion, the empowerment of local communities and the efficient management of resources.

An example of the actions implemented by the current administration is the holding of two editions of the Tianguis Turístico Digital, as a consequence of the pandemic, by taking advantage of the benefits offered by technology to carry out, with great success, Mexico’s most important tourism event, while the rest of the countries decided to cancel their tourism fairs. This formula was repeated with the Magic Towns Tianguis.

He emphasized that, as part of the technological innovation of the current administration, in coordination with the state Ministries of Tourism and the private sector, a series of catalogs have been created to make it easier for travelers to find the ideal product in the segments of romance, meetings, wine and traditional Mexican cuisine, among others; these are only available in electronic version and contain options of services, contacts, e-mails and websites.

Likewise, Sectur’s website contains the Catalog of Digital Tools and Financing Programs for Mexico’s Tourism Sector, with financial solutions from the Development Bank, Fonatur’s advisory program for better credit placement focused on the tourism sector, and the online resources offered by Meta, formerly Facebook, to support MSMEs, a company with which a strategic alliance has been established.
