IMSS Technical Council approves replacement of 180 elevators / @Tu_IMSS >>>
#IMSS.- The H. Technical Council of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) approved the replacement of 180 elevators in various medical and administrative facilities of the institution, acquired during the last administration and which, after a diagnosis, were found to have various faults.
During the extraordinary session, headed by the IMSS General Director, Zoé Robledo, the labor, employers’ and governmental advisors approved the multi-year contract for the acquisition, supply, de-installation, installation, start-up tests, commissioning and training of the elevators.
The replacement of this HITRA equipment will be carried out as a result of the present approval with a budgeted portfolio in the administration and budget committees of more than one billion pesos.
In his speech, Zoé Robledo pointed out that, in 2023, Social Security signed a contract with the leader in Mexico and the world in elevators, the company Otis, to carry out a diagnosis of the situation of the elevators, particularly those of the HITRA brand.
«The technical report delivered by Otis states that derived from the reviews of the equipment it identified poor conditions of cleanliness and order, of components and electronic circuits of the doors, inadequate adjustments of the controllers, disabled speed regulators, modified safety circuits, poorly adjusted or incomplete traction cable terminals, damaged, broken or poorly adjusted traction cables,» he said.
He pointed out that this situation led to seek the complete replacement of these 180 pieces of equipment, in addition to the filing of a complaint against the company SITRAVEM, which should have carried out the preventive actions, and the HITRA brand.
