#Atizapán, #Edoméx.- The Municipal President of Atizapán de Zaragoza, Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, celebrated the National Firefighter’s Day with members of the Atizapán Fire Department, to whom he recognized their vocation and spirit of service. The event also served as a framework for the delivery of the remodeling of the Fire Department, the Administrative Area and the delivery of equipment to better perform their work.

“I always say that there are certain professions in life in which it is not enough just to work, it is about having that vocation of service and dedication, just as all Fire and Public Safety officers do, risking their lives to protect our families,” said Rodriguez Villegas.

Accompanied by his wife, Patricia Arévalo Rubio, Honorary President of the Municipal DIF System, the Mayor also recognized the work done in the case of a young man who climbed a high-voltage transmission tower on the Chamapa-Lechería highway and the subsequent rescue by Civil Protection and Firefighters on August 13.

He used this case as an example to show that the joint work with several municipal departments, such as Public Safety, yielded good results by rescuing the young man from Atizapa without injuries. He also recognized all the elements that continue with training to improve their professional skills.

In his speech, Commander Héctor Elorriaga Mejía, Municipal Coordinator of Civil Protection, Firefighters and Environment, told the Municipal President that the corporation under his charge has managed to position itself as a national reference with its leadership.

“I am proud and honored to be able to work with you, you are a worthy example, thank you for the equipment you have done us the favor of giving us; today the firefighters have regained the image they had. We reiterate our commitment to your Administration,” said Elorriaga Mejia.

For his part, the Deputy Director of Firefighters, Commander Miguel Ángel Román González, informed that the work that has been carried out this year in the Fire Department has been a total of 3,349 services and 5,422 in the area of pre-hospital care.
