Health Ministry removes garbage in Ecatepec during the “Let’s Clean Up Our EdoMex” Day / @Edomex >>>

#EstadoDeMéxico.- With the collection of 250.2 tons of garbage and the participation of more than 1,470 people, including health workers, municipal workers and residents, the Secretary of Health of the State of Mexico contributed its grain of sand in the First “Let’s Clean Up Our EdoMex” Day, covering nine locations in the municipality of Ecatepec, which is part of the 1,800 tons that were collected in the state.

Macarena Montoya Olvera, Secretary of Health, agreed with Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez that, as part of a healthy environment, it is necessary to avoid littering on public roads, as it generates multiple problems such as the proliferation of harmful fauna, being a focus of infection that affects physical wellbeing and, fundamentally, accumulating in the drainage system and generating floods.

She called on society to resume the habit of sweeping the front of the houses, as it is part of public health actions and benefits the inhabitants of each region of the entity; in addition, she informed that 12 thousand 680 square meters of surface were cleaned in Ecatepec.

Accompanied by Jesús Alvarado Palacios, Municipal President of Ecatepec; Rodrigo Rodríguez Briseño, Health Coordinator of the Health Institute of the State of Mexico (ISEM); municipal officials and local deputies, she participated in the garbage collection in the community of Las Venitas, in Colonia Tierra Blanca.

In addition, in this municipality, brigades were implemented in eight more points such as San Isidro Atlautenco, Guadalupe Victoria, La Laguna Chiconautla, Santa Clara Coatitla, Santa María Tulpetlac, San Pedro Xalostoc, La Esperanza and Santo Tomás Chiconautla, thus changing the physiognomy of several areas of the most populated municipality in the entity.
