#SECTUR.- Also accompanied by the representative of the Government of Baja California in Mexico City, Andrea Nayeli Peña Puga, the head of Sectur pointed out that visitors will be able to learn about the state’s tourist attractions, as well as its vast gastronomic and handicraft wealth, highlighting that it is the main producer of wine in Mexico.

“In September, Punto Mexico will be the showcase for Baja California to promote its many tourist attractions and market its beautiful handcrafted products made of chaquira, leather, vegetable fibers, suede, among other materials. In addition, they will be able to enjoy the interesting exhibition of the artist Jorge Sanchez, who, through unpublished photographs, shows us the essence of the native peoples of Baja California,” he said.

He indicated that Baja California is recognized mainly for the Bufadora, spectacular marine geyser; the Rumorosa, imposing scenery of nature; its paradisiacal beaches: Rosarito, San Felipe, Punta San José, among others; the Wine Route, which covers more than 60 wineries; Tecate, picturesque Pueblo Mágico that received the update of this distinction in 2023; and La Chinesca, which also last year obtained the designation as a Magical Neighborhood.

He mentioned that soon, in Tecate, the painting of 10 thousand square meters of house facades will begin, and in La Chinesca, the same will be done with 15 artistic murals, through the Magic Routes of Color strategy, which will attract more national and foreign tourists, generating a greater economic benefit.

He highlighted that Baja California’s tourism offer will be enriched with a new “anchor” product in the Guadalupe Valley, Ensenada: Sassi del Valle, a great infrastructure project inspired by the constructions of the beautiful city of Matera, Italy, a unique urban ecosystem that takes us back to a prehistoric past.
