#Atizapán, #Edoméx.- In the framework of the 150 Years of Municipal Life of Atizapán de Zaragoza, Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas highlighted before representatives of the student and industrial sectors and society in general, that throughout 15 decades, this municipality has told the story of a town that constantly seeks prosperity with the honest work of its people.
“A history of effort, of difficult situations, the strength, the resilience of the people and the constant search to live in peace, harmony and prosperity, that is what these first 150 years of Atizapán de Zaragoza reflect.
“So, in these three years of Administration, the vision has been to have a unity between government and citizenship to build a new episode of success in the history of this land of white waters”, highlighted Rodríguez Villegas.
In front of the old Municipal Palace, a building that also served as a school and post office and was built between 1874 and 1876 under the presidency of José María Alcántara, the Mayor acknowledged the work of trustees and councilmen in putting the people’s interest first and supporting the investment of more than 2 billion pesos in public works, more than 50 million in student scholarships and also 80 million pesos in the rehabilitation of school facilities, in addition to the investment in security.
“The investment in the purchase of 236 patrol cars, 1,220 security cameras and the reconstruction of the corporation has allowed that according to the last ENSU survey (National Urban Public Safety Survey), which is applied nationally by INEGI, Atizapán is considered the municipality with the best perception of security in the entire state and that we have been able to reduce car theft by 76.2 percent, that is Atizapán”, highlighted the Mayor.
He also thanked the support of the population by giving him a new mandate in the next administrative period and placing him as the only Mayor to be reelected, to be three times municipal president and to obtain a vote of more than 142 thousand votes; he said he will work to surpass everything he has done and to honor the phrase of the favorite son of Atizapán de Zaragoza, former president Adolfo López Mateos, who coined the phrase: The effort of man is not useless, the man passes, but the work remains.
