#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), together with the delegation accompanying him, held an important meeting with the Minister of International Cooperation for Development and Foreign Trade, Johan Forssell, with whom they had a productive dialogue in which they highlighted the importance of the tourism sector for the economy of both countries, and exchanged best practices and experiences.

They emphasized that there is a great area of opportunity to promote tourism investment in Mexico, since Minister Forssell recognized that our country has captured the interest of businessmen, after the announcement of the investment of the Volvo plant in Mexico, which positions it as an attractive country, not only for the arrival of companies but also for tourism investment.

They agreed that in the next two decades there will be an accelerated growth in the North American and Asian region, so it is important to strengthen this bridge of communication that strengthens the bilateral relationship and translates into benefits for the population.

Before more than 100 tour operators, travel agents, representatives of local airlines, among other relevant actors of the sector, not only from Sweden, but also from Finland, Denmark and the Baltic countries, Torruco Marqués presented the seminar “That’s Mexico”, in which he highlighted Mexico’s tourism offerings, both in terms of consolidated destinations and new tourism products and major projects such as the Mayan Train, the 177 Magical Towns, the 34 Magical Neighborhoods and the Islas Marías, to name a few, which captured the interest of the businessmen.

Also participating in the seminar were Mexico’s ambassadors to Denmark, Norma Pensado; to Finland, Enrique Rojo Stein; and to Norway, Omar Fayad Meneses, with messages specifically aimed at their markets to motivate travel to Mexico.

Representatives from Chihuahua, Michoacán, Yucatán and Los Cabos also presented the tourist attractions of each of these states and destinations, mainly their culture, nature, landscapes and gastronomy, all of which are of great interest to tourists in this region.
