#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador clarified that the constitutional reform to the Judicial Power will not negatively impact foreign investment in Mexico. He pointed out that, on the contrary, this item registers increases due to the current economic, social and political stability of the country.
In a morning press conference, he reiterated that ridding the Judicial Power of corruption will benefit everyone by consolidating a true rule of law.
“Businessmen, those who invest, what they want is for there to be security, for there to be an authentic rule of law, strong authorities by decision of the citizens, that is to say, for there to be an authentic democracy, that is what they want and they have a lot of information”, he said.
The President reiterated that Mexico is experiencing an exceptional moment in economic matters. For example, annual inflation dropped to 4.99 percent in August, a lower figure than that recorded in the previous month, according to Monday’s report by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
The Government of the Fourth Transformation also achieved a strong collection. Tax revenues from January 1 to September 6 of this year reached 3 trillion 357 thousand 354 million pesos. The figure, in real terms, is 6.4 percent above what was observed in the same period of the previous year, that is, it means 346 thousand 145 million pesos more compared to 2023, according to the Tax Administration Service (SAT).
So far this year, total income is 3 trillion 724 thousand 659 million pesos, 1 percent more than last year’s variation due to an increase of 204 thousand 745 million pesos, as a result of not allowing corruption or tax forgiveness.
